FD088 "EASYMAG" - Set of 3 units
Compact magnetic filter with a very efficient separator of non-magnetic impurities with an area of 65cm2 and micronage of 500µm.
The filter is easy to use - standard cleaning can be done without removing the filter - by sliding the ring with magnets and draining water for a few seconds.
The filter has a semi-transparent housing that allows visual control of the accumulated amount of sediment.

Use for central heating systems with wall hung boilers, also for air conditioning systems, solar systems, etc. FERDOM Magnetizer. SuperPlumb series.

- Water inlets arranged at an angle of 90 degrees. A typical arrangement for connecting a wall hung boiler to central heating system. A total of 2 options for connecting the filter to the system.

- Magnetic impurities are trapped by a neodymium magnet located in a removable ring - without having to disassemble the filter. These impurities can cause pumps and valves to seize up and reduce heat transfer through the radiators.

- Non-magnetic impurities are caught by a very effective stainless steel mesh filter - size 500 microns and area of 65 cm2. This type of impurities (mineral deposits, clogs, etc.) block heat exchangers, clog pipes and reduce the efficiency of the system.

- Filter FD088 has a very durable metal body / head, and the tank is made of ABS / polycarbonate. AISI304 stainless steel mesh filter

- Recommended use for domestic central heating systems It is recommended for domestic central heating systems with wall hung boilers - due to construction and functions of the filter and its small size. - Thanks to the use of EASY-MAG FD088 filter, maintenance costs and the cost of spare parts are reduced by fewer failures.
- Most European manufacturers of central heating boilers now recommend the installation of the Magnetic Filter together with a new central heating boiler.
- To increase the efficiency of the magnetic filter we recommend the use of Filter Fluid FD678 penetrating fluid.

Installation and operation
- The filter should be installed under the central heating boiler in the return. In a place where you will have easy access to its operation. See drawings.
Standard cleaning
In the beginning monthly, later when deposits are visible in the filter.
a) Switch off the boiler, wait until the water in the system has cooled down.
b) You do not need to turn off the valve on FD088 or the valves at the boiler.
c) Attach a hose (such as a 1/2" garden hose) to the drain valve (12). Route the hose to a bucket or drain.
d) Slide the black ring with magnets (13) off the FD088 housing (11).
e) Open the drain valve (12) for 5-7 seconds. The force of flowing water and its vortex will push out accumulated impurities - metallic, mineral, deposits, etc.
f) Close the drain valve (12), replace the black ring with magnets (13)
g) Check water pressure in the central heating system, top up the water if the pressure has dropped.

Thorough cleaning.
It is recommended to do it annually, before the heating season.
a) Turn off the boiler, wait till the water in the system cools down.
b) Turn off the shut-off ball valve on the filter (5) and the boiler shut-off valves on heating circuit.
c) Attach a hose (e.g. 1/2" garden hose) to the drain valve (12). Route the hose to a bucket or drain.
d) Slide the black magnet ring (13) off the FD088 housing.
e) Open filter drain valve F(12), drain dirty water from it.
f) Unscrew the filter tank (11) from the metal head (4). Clean the mesh filter (7,8) and the inside of the container (11).
g) g) Put the filter mesh back into the container, screw the head and container back on and mount the filter again. Don't forget to put the sealing O-ring on top of the tank (10).

Why install a magnetic filter - separator?
Central heating radiators are usually made of mild steel which is highly susceptible to corrosion. Even with a high quality corrosion inhibitor installed, some level of corrosion can occur, while without an inhibitor the level of corrosion is many times greater. In a central heating system in the absence of air, black magnetite is usually formed, which is magnetic in nature and can therefore be captured with a magnet.
Although magnetite is seven times heavier than water and normally sinks to the bottom of the radiator from which it originates, some particles are dispersed into the system by the flow. If a magnetic filter fails to collect these particles, they will end up in the next electromagnetic device; such as a circulation pump, and cause premature wear. They also get into other system components such as valves, heat exchangers, etc. causing clogging and reducing the thermal efficiency of the system.
An additional built-in function of the device is a separator/settler for non-magnetic impurities. Impurities of this type (so-called boiler scale) block heat exchangers, lead to overheating of the boiler, clog pipes and reduce the efficiency of the entire system.
