FD178 WATERCLEAN 90μm pre-filter + additional inox mesh SS316L 90 μm FD170, 3 units
- Reusable filter, thanks to a durable SS316L stainless steel cartridge, lasting several years.
- Use for drinking and drinking water from your own well or from the water mains. Flow rate max 2,5m3/hour.
- Filter protects fittings such as water meters, washing machines, dishwashers, bathroom and kitchen faucets against insoluble impurities.
- Recommended use as the first filter (pre-filter) before sensitive fittings such as softeners, iron separators, osmosis stations, etc.
- Spin Down filter type - when the drain valve is opened, the vortex of mains water moving downwards cleans the cartridge and removes the collected impurities.
- Easy assembly to the water supply system by means of the enclosed G1/2" or 3/4" screws (DN15/DN20).

The working principle of the pre-filter is the separation in the flowing water (by filtration) of insoluble impurities with a fraction larger than (90µm). The smaller the micron rating, the more effective the filtration, but the greater the pressure loss across the filter. The cartridge is reusable and is cleaned of retained sediments during the manual rinsing phase (Spin Down)

Assembly and use
Easy installation to the water supply system using the screws provided. The pipes must be in a horizontal line so that the filter is mounted in a vertical position. Place of installation behind the stopcock of the water supply to the building, flat.
Regular service consists in checking the level of contamination of the filter cartridge (the casing is transparent) and, if contamination is visible, unscrewing the filter drain valve. This is done without turning off the water supply, the pressure of which when the drain valve is open pushes out the impurities from the filter and rinses out its cartridge/filter screen. When the drain valve is closed again, the filter returns to the operating cycle.
Occasional maintenance consists of mechanical cleaning of the filter mesh or its replacement (once every few years). For this operation it is necessary to turn off the water supply and unscrew the housing from the head.
Installation of shut-off valves recommended but not necessary (the water supply rarely needs to be shut off).

Recommended use:
- In domestic water supply systems (main use).
- Selected industrial applications.
The pre-filter protects household fittings from insoluble impurities from the water mains or your own water supply (sand, rust, small particles of sealing elements, etc.).
In particular, it protects household appliances (washing machine, dishwasher), ceramic heads in bathroom and kitchen faucets, heads of water treatment devices (e.g. softener, de-icer, etc.).
Recommended use as the first filter (pre-filter) before sensitive fittings such as softeners, deaerators, osmosis stations, etc. This way the service life of subsequent filters in the filtration line, which may have a micron rating of e.g. 1 to 50 microns, is increased and they may quickly become clogged with larger impurities or damaged.

Filter construction
The pre-filter has a brass head with a ¼" pressure gauge connection and connections to either G1/2" external thread (recommended connection) or G (recommended connection) or G3/4" .
The housing/dome of the filter is made of transparent, impact resistant synthetic material allowing to easily check the degree of contamination of the cartridge.
Inside the housing there is a durable and long-lasting filter cartridge made of stainless steel SS316L ensuring low operating costs due to the fact that it needs to be replaced only every few years.
A drain valve is located at the bottom of the housing, to which a 100 cm long drain hose (included) is to be connected and discharged into e.g. the sewer/drain. A service spanner is included for unscrewing / screwing the housing.
