FD407 Cartridge set for FERDOM FD406 softener/dispenser model - 3 cartridges for 60m3 of water (3xFD405)
The cartridge is an anticorrosive and anti-sludge solution for water installations. Its main purpose is to protect heat exchangers in boilers and domestic hot water systems. Can be also used for water heaters, washing machines, dishwashers etc.
The cartridges can also be used for standard equipment manufactured by other companies.

APPLICATION
This product prevents mineral deposits and protects against corrosion of water installations, especially hot water (heat exchangers in boilers) and washing machines, dishwashers and other appliances. The unit automatically doses microscopic amounts of a chelating and masking agent, which contains food grade water softeners (4g/1m3).
- FD407/FD405 products prevent scale and sediment deposits and protect water installations against corrosion.
- They protect boilers, heat exchangers, heaters, washing machines, dishwashers, etc., prevent deposits on fittings.
- The dispenser doses minimal amounts of the preparation (approx. 4 ppm / 4 parts per million) with a chelating and sequestering effect.
- Included are three product cartridges for approx. 60m3, spare cartridges available. Easy control of consumption and replacement of the product.
- Manufacturers of boilers and heaters recommend the protection of installations when the water hardness exceeds 15° dh (hard / very hard).
- By preventing the formation of corrosive and mineral deposits that promote bacterial growth, it also has an indirect antibacterial effect and prevents the formation of further sources of contamination. Contains Bios antibacterial components.

DISPENSER - PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
FERDOM FD406 / FD408 anti-sediment and anti-corrosion dosing devices proportionally dose FERDOS (Italian production), which thanks to its composition, creates a microscopic and anti-sediment membrane on metal surfaces, so that water has limited contact with metal surfaces. At the same time the preparation creates a colloidal suspension which does not allow the precipitation of calcium and magnesium ions (deposits).
The preparation is dosed in microscopic amounts. It is produced on the basis of food preparations.
WATER HARDNESS - IMPACT ON THE SYSTEM AND FITTINGS
In most parts of Poland (over 50%) water is hard or very hard. This has the following consequences; failures of boilers, heaters, heating systems, fittings, household appliances, etc. Sediments in boilers, heat exchangers also increase heating costs. Many manufacturers of fittings (e.g. central heating boilers) recommend water treatment when the hardness of the water exceeds 15° dh (hard/basic water).
Hardness also causes stubborn deposits on faucets, sanitary fittings and showers, and increases expenses for washing and cleaning products.
The hardness of water results from the sum of calcium and magnesium salts, which, as a result of raising temperatures, cause the formation of so called limescale, especially in places where there is the greatest thermal shock, e.g. in boilers, exchangers, pipes, etc. This is caused by a chemical reaction which results in the formation of calcium carbonate and carbon dioxide. The calcium carbonate precipitates, causing incrustations and blockages in the fittings, while the carbon dioxide produced triggers the corrosion process.
The sodium polyphosphate-based preparation has an anti-corrosive and anti-sedimentary function - which, thanks to its composition, forms a microscopic and anti-sedimentary film on the walls of fittings and pipes, and at the same time causes a colloidal suspension process that prevents the precipitation of calcium and magnesium ions. By stopping the precipitation of ions, the amount of deposits and the amount of CO2 formation, responsible for corrosion, is reduced.
