CZ1 "FERDOM" Set Inhibitor and Cleaning Agent for CH Systems. 2x1 L. For 100L of Water in the System
Central Heating Corrosion Inhibitor and Central Heating Cleaner per system approx. 65-70 litres/80m2 heated area .
Set CZ1:
SUPER-DS dissolves mineral deposits, corrosion products, sludge during central heating operation. CH-2 Inhibitor regulates pH, prevents corrosion, deposits, biological contamination.
KIT: CH-2 / SUPER-DS = CH-2 Corrosion Inhibitor and CH-2 Cleaning Agent for a system of approx. 65-70 litres/80m2 of heated surface.
Why a set?
-When you want to use an inhibitor, remember that every central heating system to be protected against corrosion and deposits (especially those older than 3 years) should be first thoroughly cleaned to remove all impurities and neutralise the corrosive agents. Otherwise, the "power" of the inhibitor will be used for these factors and not for the future protection of the installation.
-If you want to clean your installation, remember: After every chemical cleaning of the installation, the "bare" metal surfaces are exposed, which are very susceptible to corrosion. In addition, after refilling the system with water after the cleaning process, most of the mineral deposits dissolved in the water (so-called temporary hardness) will settle on the heat exchanger after the first boiler firings, reducing the boiler output by up to 5%-6%. The protection of the central heating system after chemical cleaning is recommended by PN.

TECHNICAL DATA
SUPER-DS "FERDOM"® is a universal cleaner based on a mixture of poly-acrylic acids and anti-foaming agents. It contains substances that dissolve the deposit layer and convert the sludge into a form that is easy to rinse out. SUPER-DS "FERDOM"® is recommended for cleaning installations of any type of material. For use in new and old systems.
DOSAGE
The working concentration is 1.5% (1 litre/dm3 to 65 - 70 litres/dm3 of water) proportions are not critical. By way of indication, in modern construction with central heating pump systems with steel radiators, the power requirement for a surface of 120m2 is approx. 10kW, which corresponds to one litre of the preparation. If the system is heavily silted clean it again.
APPLICATION
Installations:
a) With expansion vessel: Drain some water from the system, pour the preparation into the expansion vessel, make up the water shortage.
b) Pressurised systems: Find a place in the system which can be closed with two valves, e.g. radiator, boiler. Close the valves, drain the water (from radiators or boiler), pour in the preparation (in the radiator, e.g. unscrew the vent plug and pour in the preparation using a funnel). Top up with water.
Start the installation for about 2 hours maintaining higher working temperature. Leave the preparation in the installation during normal operation during the heating season for 2 to 14 days. If you use the preparation outside the heating season, it can remain in the system for up to 4 weeks and, if possible, switch on the system, e.g. at night, even for a short period of time, so that the temperature of water in the system rises. After cleaning, drain the solution from the system. Rinse thoroughly with water and treat immediately with CH-2 (COPAL) inhibitor "FERDOM"® or CH-3 "FERPRO"® . Due to its low concentration and lack of activity after the cleaning process, the product does not require neutralisation before being discharged into the sewage system.

ACTION OF CH-2, CH-3 INHIBITORS
Anodic passivation, or the formation of a protective layer:
A corrosion inhibitor acts through a mechanism called anodic passivation. As a result of the electrochemical process, the inhibitors in the protective fluid water are directed to the anode and cathode and are chemically absorbed on the surface. The resulting layer forms a barrier that effectively isolates the anode from the circulating water and from contact with the cathode. This slows down the corrosion rate to a small level, usually 100 or 1000 times less compared to corrosion in water without protective fluid.
The passive layer is subject to continuous disruption and reconstruction and its presence depends on the continuous presence of an inhibitor in the water to repair the passive layer. If the inhibitor is missing, the corrosion protection is also interrupted, and in a very short time. Usually, the most anodic part of the component is attacked, for example a stressed weld in a radiator or a crack. The corrosion rate across the surface may be very low, but can be very high at a particular point, causing perforation of the metal at that point.
Adjusting the pH level to inhibit corrosion of iron and steel.
The acidic or basic reaction (pH) of the plumbing water plays a significant role in the corrosion of metals. For example, iron and steel corrode quickly in an acidic environment, but slowly in a basic environment. The rate of corrosion is influenced by the type of corrosion product formed under different pH conditions. In an alkaline environment, iron and steel, corrode to form magnetite Fe304, which forms a selective layer on the metal surface that slows the corrosion rate. Steel is the main material to be protected. The inhibitor is designed to change (buffer) the pH to neutral or slightly alkaline, which promotes slowing of the corrosion rate. Buffering ensures that both acidic and basic additives can be tolerated without changing the pH.
Adjusting pH levels to inhibit corrosion of aluminium.
Aluminium is an active metal that can be used for technical products such as condensing boilers, aluminium radiators, due to the completely insoluble oxide film that forms immediately on the metal surface on contact with air or in a neutral aqueous environment. In contrast, extreme conditions of acidity or alkalinity dissolve the protective oxide film and cause rapid corrosion. An inhibitor supplements the natural corrosion protection produced by oxide coatings by incorporating the oxides into the inhibitory coating and by adjusting the pH. The action of the inhibitor effectively prevents the phenomenon of overgrowing of copper pipes in central heating installations, thus the installation is maintained in high efficiency for many years.
Effectiveness of anti-sedimentation action
The formula of the inhibitor ensures high effectiveness in preventing boiler scale and deposits. This eliminates many negative processes occurring in unprotected central heating installations. The action of the preparations is specifically targeted at boilers and exchangers, where the greatest amount of scale is generated. Scale deposits in boilers may lead to their noisy operation, low efficiency or even breakdown, such as exchanger cracking.
Prevention of biological contamination.
Bacterial, yeast or algae infections can be caused by organisms that enter the system with the water, remain on the residuals after commissioning or enter from the atmosphere, e.g. in open expansion vessels. Such infections can cause the formation of methane gas in radiators (explodes with a blue flame), not to be confused with the release of hydrogen gas, which is the result of corrosion. Hydrogen sulphide (smell of rotten egg) can also happen, its presence is related to the presence of sulphate reducing bacteria that cause corrosion.
Additional information.
The product can be injected via a collection vessel, poured directly into the system at any point, or injected using an injector (as used in gardening) or see description of other ways of injecting. The preparation should be protected from freezing temperatures. It should not be mixed with other preparations (except anti-freeze preparations). The product is not toxic, but as with other preparations, it should be used with caution. In household and industrial installations it is recommended to check periodically the inhibitor concentration in the installation using the "Tester of inhibitor concentration" ATTENTION - AIR CONDENSED HEATERS (air, oxygen, hydrogen, methane, etc.). This is most often a sign of corrosive processes in the central heating system. Only inhibitors prevent this phenomenon. HEATER DEFILING does not eliminate the causes but only the effects. An inhibitor is a water conditioner for central heating systems.
