DS-15 "FERDOM" Neutralizing (1%) or cleaning (2%) preparation for central heating systems.

A) 1% neutralizes new systems and removes oils, dirt, sludge, fluxes, filings, etc.
B) 2% cleans central heating systems, even older ones whose condition does not allow the use of acids.

DESCRIPTION OF APPLICATIONS

The effective acid-free agent is designed for rinsing, neutralizing and cleaning water installations, heating installations, etc;


A) New installations before commissioning to neutralise solders, fluxes, technical oils (from radiators and metal pipes) and other chemical impurities.


B) Existing water installations - to remove rust, corrosion deposits, light mineral deposits and loose substances such as sludge and contaminants that are by-products of corrosion with minimal risk of exposing leaks.



Contains inhibitors that protect all metals and materials commonly used in heating systems. Leaving the agent on for a longer period of time does not cause damage to the installation. Cleaning can be repeated if necessary.


CLEANING METHODS
DS-15 can be used both during the system operation and with a cleaning pump.

-Cleaning of a heating system (new or existing) during system operation consists in maintaining circulation for 7-14 days under normal operating conditions or for approx. 1 day maintaining a constant temperature of approx. 60-70°C. Using DS-15 does not require disconnection of the boiler or radiators, it is advisable to use the boiler to heat up the cleaning bath. When there is no possibility to heat up the heating installation, e.g. in summer season, or another installation is being cleaned, e.g. air-conditioning - the preparation is effective also at ambient temperature of approx. 20°C. In this case it is advisable to leave it in the installation longer - up to 4 weeks.

Cleaning of water installations by using the cleaning pop-up. It is advisable to heat up the cleaning bath to approx. 50 °C. Cleaning period up to about 6 hours. Use of Ferdom magnetic filter FM1 (FD001) is recommended.

GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS FOR LARGE INSTALLATIONS
Cleaning without a cleaning pump while the system is running.

Recommended concentration of the preparation 1% to 2% (1 to 2 litres/dm3 per 100 litres/dm3 of water) depending on the degree of contamination of the installation.

1) Feed the preparation directly into the system. Concentrations are not critical.

2) For best results, drain and flush with tap water before cleaning.

3) Prepare the installation for cleaning. Open all valves in the system to full flow, including thermostatic controls and automatic control valves. They must be open so that no part of the circuit is disconnected during cleaning.

4) The introduction of the preparation should take place after complete / partial draining of the system, in an open system through an expansion vessel or through a place in the system chosen by the installation team.

5) The cleaning process is faster and more effective at higher temperatures. The boiler and circulating pump should be connected to the central heating system and operate within the normal temperature range.

6) At 60-70oC the cleaning time can be reduced to approx. 24-48 hours.

8) The cleaning process should be monitored and continue for as long as necessary (and possibly be repeated) in accordance with the results of the cleaning process monitoring.

9) The next step is to drain the system completely and rinse it with cold water. Carefully flush the system until the water is clear. This requires at least three water changes. To protect the system for the future, it is recommended to use a corrosion inhibitor.

CLEANING OF OTHER WATER INSTALLATIONS
The cleaning method for other installations depends on their type. It is advisable to heat up the cleaning bath for faster action of the product and to use a forced closed circuit. Most of the recommendations for central heating installations can be applied for cleaning other systems.
