STRONG FD390 Magnetic Separator-Hydrocyclone Filter for central heating systems. Magnetizer. 1 unit

- The 1"(DN25) water connections to the filter are fitted with a swivel coupling, allowing 360 degree rotation.

- The filter has a very durable casing - all elements are made of nickel-plated brass. A steel key for opening the filter and the drain valve is included.

- Magnetic impurities are trapped by a powerful neodymium magnet with a nominal power of 10,000Gs.

- Magnetic impurities can damage pumps and valves, reduce heat transfer through radiators

- Non-magnetic impurities are caught by the hydrocyclone filter design. They first enter the swirl unit (patented design) and through centrifugal force (vortex) move to the outer side of the unit and then fall to the bottom where they are caught by an efficient stainless steel mesh filter.

STRONG FD390 Magnetic Separator Hydrocyclone Filter for central heating systems

- Most boilers produced today have very narrow water passages to achieve the highest possible efficiency.
- By using the STRONG FD390 filter, maintenance costs and the cost of spare parts are reduced thanks to fewer breakdowns.
- Most European central heating boiler manufacturers now recommend the installation of a magnetic filter with a new central heating boiler.
- To increase the efficiency of the magnetic filter we recommend the use of our Filter Fluid FD678 penetrating fluid.

Installation and operation
- Recommended installation:
On the water return, in front of the boiler. For installation options see adjacent illustration.
- Cleaning of the filter;
Quick cleaning - points 1-2, Thorough cleaning - points 1-2-3 (at least once a year)
1) Remove the magnet. Turn off the shut-off valves at the filter and boiler - with the system not operating.
2) Open the drain valve, unscrew the cap. Drain the water with impurities into a prepared container.
3) Unscrew the bottom of the filter. Remove mesh filter. Clean the accessible parts of the filter from deposits and sediments.
After the cleaning is finished, follow the steps in reverse order.
Finally check the tightness of the cover and vent the filter.

Why install a Magnetic Separator?
Central heating radiators are usually made of mild steel, which is highly susceptible to corrosion. Even with a high quality corrosion inhibitor installed there may be some level of corrosion, cleaned without an inhibitor the level of corrosion is many times greater. In a central heating system in the absence of air, black magnetite is usually formed, which is magnetic in nature and can therefore be captured with a magnet.
Although magnetite is seven times heavier than water and normally falls to the bottom of the radiator from which it originates, some particles are dispersed into the system by the flow. If a magnetic filter fails to collect these particles, they will end up in the next electromagnetic device; such as a circulation pump, and cause premature wear. They also get into other parts of the installation such as valves, heat exchangers, etc. causing clogging and reducing the thermal efficiency of the system.
An additional built-in function of the device is a separator/settler for non-magnetic impurities. Such impurities (boiler scale) block heat exchangers, lead to overheating of the boiler, clog pipes and reduce the efficiency of the entire system.
